A Tiny Cardigan

I was a bit bored last night so I got my crochet out. I didn't feel like continuing with anything I have already started. I wanted to do something quick and easy.
So I made this

It is based on a pattern I found on Pinterest. You can find the pattern here. I added a few extra rows on the bottom half and then a scalloped edge on the bottom and around the arm holes.
I think it turned out quite well.

Another New Garden

And this time its all mine!

Its a bit bare at the moment but Its full of potential. I have lots of ideas to fill it up with so I'm sure it wont be empty for long. In fact I have already been planting..

a rather sad looking Plum Tree.

I'm on a budget of very little to no money for the garden so this was bought for £1.99 in a local low cost shop. I don't even know what kind of plum it is as it wasn't labeled very well. It was the only tree in the shop that still looked like it had some life in it. Obviously I had to rescue the poor tree before it was too late.  Hopefully it will now spring into life and give us lots of delicious plums in the future, fingers crossed.

Works In Progress

I have recently started planning a new crochet blanket. I nearly have all the wool I want and can get going soon. However yesterday I realised I should probably finish some of the projects that I have laying around before I start anything new. But I have sooo many ideas and want to get going on them  lol.

This is just 3 of the projects I have stashed around the place.

The first is a Ripple Blanket based on Lucy's pattern here. The coulours don't show up very well but take it from me it is VERY bright :)

The next project is something I have been working on for a while. When I get a new ball of wool I start by making a granny square for this blanket. Then each coloured square is surrounded by some creamy Aran wool.

The last project is going to be a cushion cover. I keep seeing piles of crochet cushions on pinterest and I MUST have my own collection lol.

So I really should finish at least one project before I start on my new blanket idea.....

Should.......

New Garden

I have a new job and with it not one but two new gardens to work in.

The Wartime Garden

and

The Poly Tunnel Garden

both need quite some work but it shouldnt take me too long to get them up and running. The Wartime Garden is a dempnstration garden showing a more traditional way of vegetable growing. In the Polly Tunnel Garden I can use more modern methods and grow a variety of different and unusual fruit and vegetables. I can't wait to get started :)

A Day Out at Great Dixter

Living so close by I had to take some time out to go and visit this amazing garden. Great Dixter was the home of Christopher Lloyd who developed one of the best gardens I have ever seen.

Great Dixter House built in the mid 15th Century

The garden was in FULL bloom and looked stunning

There was colour everywhere

Christopher Lloyd was famous for his colour combinations

I loved this sunken sedum area

The Lily Pond

A topiary bird

The garden was very inspirational and I could have spent all day there. I just loved the abundance of colour and the sheer number of flowers and plants.
